Meeting Recap Archive

April 2009

At the April meeting we taste tested the Crunchmaster multi-grain crackers that were mentioned in March. All agreed that they were very good and would hold up well for dips and other toppings including cheese and meat. They are available at Sam's Club, on the wall at the end of the pastry section.

Several salad recipes were shared and appear in the recipe section of this site. Lynn brought some candied walnuts for the group to taste. They go along with her spinach salad receipe.

Susanna mentioned a blog site that had a lot of good information. It is elanaspantry.com. It has a lot of good recipes and other helpful information.

Jeanette distributed copies of her first attempt at documenting the cost difference between purchasing gluten-free products and non-gluten-free products. This was a follow up to last month's discussion about the possibility of being able to take a tax deduction for the added cost of food due to a medical condition. This is a work in progress.
