Jeanette had several announcements at the July meeting. (1) Mount Hope Natural Foods has identified a date for their annual Gluten Free Fair. It will be held September 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please let Jeanette know if you have suggestions for speakers to forward to the group in Cottonwood. (2) Simply Delicious Catering called to let us know that they now are serving gluten-free dishes and have a small cafe where they serve lunch and dinner. They are located at 408 E. Rt 66 behind Babbitt Ford Pre-Owned Vehicles lot. (3) There now is a saliva-based, do-it-yourself genetic test for celiac disease. For more information, go to MyCeliacID.

Several members of the group discussed recent travel experiences. What we learned: it helps to have good friends who will work with you and are sensitive to your needs; how food is prepared can change from one chef to another - what may be 'safe' one night may not be the next if the chef is different; when faced with a limited hotel restaurant menu, try the room service menu.
